Chemical Stability
It is stable in both acidic and alkaline environments and reacts only with very strong oxidizing agents. This property ensures that the pigment remains phase-stable within a ceramic glaze during firing.
Color Character
Chrome oxide green offers a calm, settled green tone reminiscent of chlorophyll. As the firing temperature increases, the tone is observed to darken slightly; this requires the kiln profile to be carefully designed.

Dosage and Formulation
The typical dosage range is between 2% and 8% of the glaze weight. At higher dosages, a matte surface effect may develop; this is a desirable characteristic in certain decorative applications.
